JasonW18 Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 (edited) Well, here are some pics of my new project. Its the Revell 2006 Mustang kit. I saw a photo of an old parnelli jones mustang racecar and it sent me off this morning to pick up this kit. I've already got started on it, and I decided to put my own spin on it, I'm painting it Grabber orange, but picked up some volk rims for it. I dont know if I like the bronze wheel, so I might paint them gunmetal or chrome, we'll see, so tell me what you think of the mockup. edit** Resized images** Edited November 26, 2007 by JasonW18
Wildrice Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Wheels look good on it. I built this kit and loved it.
Enzoenvy1 Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 I am building this kit on here as well. But I am modding the whole thing to what I think is a better Mustang, lol. Great wheel choice. I have several sets of the TE-37's and they might end up on mine as well. Great start.
JasonW18 Posted November 27, 2007 Author Posted November 27, 2007 (edited) Thanks for the input guys. I have to agree I love this kit also. The longer tabs on the parts along with the highly detailed parts pictures make this kit prolly the easiest and most enjoyable kit I've built this year. Edited November 27, 2007 by JasonW18
fordsixty Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 looks cool.... the wheels look right on it but it does give it a tuner/jtcc look. i like it.
3men2s Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Dude I am working on a project as we speak with the same idea. based on a Pirelli Jones Boss 302 trans am mustang. Check out my post. project is on the werkbench list as trans am mustang retro. great choice.
mikelo Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Funny you should bring this up. This just happens to be our club's same kit build. It is due next month. I had the same idea until I saw this...... http://www.saleen.com/saleen-parnellijones.htm So here is where I am at. (I think you can see where I'm going) The funny part is, now that I am nearing completion, I did a last minute wheel swap to those wheels. I painted mine silver to look like the old mini lights. I'll post pics when its done. I am running out of time, so I think I am going to skimp on the grill. Keep us posted on your progress.
