The Creative Explorer Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 I made this car as a gift for the people with which I am staying with at the moment. Nothing really special, but I spent long times in fixing the seems between the top and bottom halve of the car. Tricky one. But it does looks so much better without those gaps.
sjordan Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Killer. Filling the seams makes a huge difference. Looks like excellent work, especially considering the metallic paint. Got any interior pictures?
The Creative Explorer Posted November 28, 2007 Author Posted November 28, 2007 Thank you, yeah, the seams makes a huge difference. it is a tough job, but it is doable. I can make a how-to for that maybe even.hmmm. I will post some pictures of the interior in a bit, need to find them first
The Creative Explorer Posted November 28, 2007 Author Posted November 28, 2007 My previous Jag, with the seamlines.
MrObsessive Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 So Steef, you slid the interior through the firewall? I've never noticed the seam lines between the model and the 1:1. Now I see! How did you put in the glass though? Since the car is a monocoque the 1:1's glass is put on the outside..............I'm getting dizzy trying to figure out how you did the bodywork and interior................ and yet painted it and have a seamless body on a monocoque chassis!
Harry P. Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 I'm also curious...I'm building the same kit now, and I see no way to paint the interior, install the glass (it installs from the inside), and then somehow have a finished interior in place before you fill the seams and paint/clear the body. How in the world did you do it? Step by step, and be specific.
The Creative Explorer Posted November 28, 2007 Author Posted November 28, 2007 Thanks. I needed more than 3 months of trying to figure it out and many, many long nights. If you guys want, I can write a tutorial in de big-scale forum?
