JunkPile Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Here is the problem: Wherever any tape or BMF touches new paint on body the adhesive removes paint particles damaging finish upon removal. Also, clear-coat does not adhere well to this finish. The paint used here is Testors in square bottle thinned with lacquer thinner then tried again with same paint thinned with Testors Enamel Thinner with equal results. Silver is the color being used. Anybody have an answer for this?
Erik Smith Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 My guess would be contamination of the plastic below not allowing the paint to bite. Did you primer? Is the primer lifting?
Jantrix Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Donn Yost who goes by LoneWolf15 here, is an expert at this sort of painting. He would be whom I would contact in this situation.
JunkPile Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 Yes primer was used. Adhesion to body is not the problem. Problem is at the top/finish coat letting go a sort of residue
