Well today i finally finished the Austin Mini Cooper that i have had on the bench for the last few years, i started it, then it went on the backburner when other things needed to be done, now i have a bit more time on my hands, i have more time for modelling

Front end finished, bonnet badge was put on first, this is supplied as a self adhesive chrome badge, the waterslide decal is then applied over it

Side view, showing BMF used for the wheel arch trim and windown trim, the roadwheel were also drilled out instead of painting the indents black as shown on the instructions

The boot badge is also supplied as a self adhesive foil emblem, just the the 1:1 car, the badge is not centred, it is off to the right very slightly, the break between the words Austin & Cooper line up the boot handle

The body was sprayed with cellulose BMC Tartan red and given a black roof, interior was painted using Tamiya acrylics spreayed using an airbrush

Geoff, the Mini looks beautiful. My second favorite small car of all time (can you guess my first? B) ) Tamiya did such a great job (as usual) on these kits. I've gleaned some good info from this build, as I have all the versions to do, and started the Morris racer. Very nice foil work around the wheel openings, a hard-to-do area. These little beasts were tiny, but kicked butt! :D
