I just got to the part of dry fitting the front grill/valance to the body. I have a very bad match. The mating part of the body wraps under more than the valance. Which is accurate?

Do I sand the valance down to meet the body (preferred and easier to do I think) or do I coaxe the body out to meet the valance????

Anyone who has wrestled this beast into submission is welcome to jump in here.

Thanks,

Joe.

I find it best to cut apart the grille/valence piece, then attach the front valence piece to the lower edges of the fenders. Use a dot of superglue to hold the valence edge to the fender, then apply liquid glue and melt that joint so it becomes one.

Once it's permanently attached, you can scribe the correct valance panel edge lines and fill in the part behind the chin spoilers which is missing, too. B)

Thanks Casey. I just mocked it up to see if i can get the chassis under it with the valance attaced and i can so your tip will work fine.

What chin spoiler? What part is missing?

The two chin spoilers are molded as one with the front valence panel, but the section of the valence panel rearward of the spoilers in missing on the kit part. Compare the kit's valence to the image below and you'll see the missing section:

You really can't see the missing section with the two chin spoilers in place, so it doesn't have to be done, but if you're removing the (optional) front spoilers, it should be corrected.
