Austin T Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 What's the best way to go about lowering the Revell 49 Merc? I figure the chassis on the woody and the regular Merc are the same, I only have the woody. I'm looking to lower it or maybe even put a slight rake on it for an upcoming build. So what's the best way to lower it without extensive surgery?
Erik Smith Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Just a thought (as I'm too lazy to get up and look right now), but I think the suspension is lowered on the '49 Merc - and similar enough you could swap it onto the Woody? I'll check if you don't have the Merc to compare...
Austin T Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 That'd be great Erik. If it is I might need to go pick one up.

The chassis are the same between Revell's 49 Merc lead sled and the Station Wagon--only the suspension parts changed--to give a stock ride height for the Woodie. Art

Erik Smith Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Austin - I'll send you a PM - pretty sure looking at my photos here http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=83067&page=7 ...that the lowered parts should swap in with little or no trouble - and I have the parts from a kit I've been raiding...
