10thumbs Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) Hi guys, What do you experienced guys recommend for filling cracks and spaces? I've done a search here and haven't found anything of a recent nature. I've read about putting small sprue lead leftover pieces in a small glass jar and filling with Modeler's liquid glue, wait, then the thick solution can be applied. That may work, but may be unnecessarily expensive. What do you do? Thanks in advance, Michael Edited February 15, 2014 by 10thumbs

my80malibu Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Gel type super glue has some filling capability. There is Tenax, or Ambroid. adhesives that melt the plastic while bonding, the melted plastic results in a filling action. if the filling point is large then there are a few hobby alternatives like Sqaudron Green, and White colored putties. Tamiya Gray, and White Basic putties, are helpful. There are several other alternatives out there.
Longbox55 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 use automotive spot putty. X2. This is one of the best on the market for model use. http://bondo.com/products/automotive/body-filler/bondo-professional-glazing-spot-putty-801.html It can be found at any auto parts store.
MattW Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Squadron white putty. It's made specifically for models, and it doesn't shrink. Plus, it's cheaper than Bondo! LOL
