Tips needed for Modifying and/or making headlight headlamp assy

Recommended Posts

I'm in the process of building a replica of a 1:1 SUV that I used to have. I'm new to the adult modeling scene but think I have a clear path for all of the changes and modifications needed to match the 1:1 version except for the headlights. That one has me stumped. Below are some photos of the real headlights. I plan to remove the oval shapes in an existing headlight that I have filled with filler from and older version model of the 1:1. But I cannot figure out how to make a clear lense to go over the headlight once its completed.

Has anyone used a clear filler type material that would work to smooth over the unit once its complete?

Is there a way to re-chrome a part? Possibly with chrome paint?

You can make ANY clear part: lenses, windshields, etc. by following this inspired method.
