guitarsam326 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I have seen some remarkable work an such small details in some of these trucks, but what is still stumping me is how you guys are doing the weatherstripping around windows. I would love to know the trick to clean weather stripping. I have tried to mask off with tape (worked ok, but still not clean enough, do I need more patience?), I've also tried sharpie which is ok. Does anyone have any suggestion? while I have you truck guys on the line, what is everyone using for air lines and wiring and such, better question, what size wire? I have been using 22 gauge solid wire that is stripped of its insulation, but I've seen battery cable that still has insulation on some models, but the 22 gauge is way too big for that. sorry for the long post, just things that have been bugging me on my ford c-900. hope to post the finished product in a few weeks, thanks guys!!!!!
clayton Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 phone wire for one. Get the good stuff, the dollar store the insulation don't last that long,it starts to crack and chip after a year or two.
Thatswhatshesaid Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 I found some stuff at Cabelas a couple years ago. Its thin round strips of rubber used for fly fishing. It came in 10-12 inch lengths. Forget how many came to a pack but if I remember it was pretty cheap price wise. Nothing looks more like rubber than rubber.
