BLOODBANE Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I have a JEEP CJ7 kit and I am wanting to make it look like my wifes JEEP (heres a pic of her 1:1)... I have some So-Real BOGGERs and some urethane Swampers (the swampers seem a bit small though). Anyways what would be the best bet for the suspension? The real JEEP has some pretty severe arched leaves (we bought it this way)I just dont know that I could get the arch out of the kits leaves. Ideas? Thanks....
cobraman Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Strips of aluminum could work. Someone around here made some beauties out of a soda can.
disabled modeler Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 You could find some extra springs and try to re-arch them using some heat carefully to the desired shape?
vypurr59 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Build the springs with strip styrene, easy to arch and you can glue several pieces together to get the amount of spring plates needed.

The white is his creation, the black one was the kit supplied unit. Hope this helps.
