Funny Car Body Props

Does anyone know who makes(or can show) how to make an F/C body prop simular to a Polar Lights or Monogram type(Outcast/Cop Out) for Revell 1/24 & 1/16 scale F/C's?Those single stick props are a pain once the back hinge starts to get long in the tooth.

Perhaps copying the original plastic design with metal rod and soldering it together.
