Cool Project @ Work

As I've mentioned, I started working this week at a Restoration shop that specializes in Street Rods & Muscle cars. Some have asked to post some of the toys in the shop. Here's a cool one.

This is a custom built chassis for a `65 Corvette. Coil-overs, rack-n-pinion, LS1 fuel injected small block, killer brakes, insanity…. The body is being smoothed out in another department. I'll post more when there's more to see.

Not sure on the price tag, but it was delivered in the condition you see. I heard it was knocking on $50K…..

My first project is much less interesting. Dash, engine compartment, and forward light harness in a `79 Corvette. Another shop "repaired" a problem….. gave us a new customer. So far, I'm in love. I didn't want to come home tonight. Imagine a shop full of gear heads swapping stories after hours. I see some late nights coming….

John your head will be the clouds for months. Have fun, I hope you have enough time to still work on your scale cars.

Hey John what's up with the quilt over the tranny, is it top secret or something? BTW congrats on the new job, sounds like a cool place to work!!

We have thick, quilted moving blankets and, like on the transmission, old bed comforters laying about to either lay on the floor on or to drape over body or interior components.

The trans is just the late-model overdrive unit that comes behind an LS3. The blanket is just out of the way & off the floor.
