I think for those to be done right, they'd need to be machined. I think the black version is the coolest thing going in drag racing right now. I've stared at them many-a-time and can't figure out a way to do them where painting them wouldn't be a nightmare trying to get the little aluminum areas to look correct.

i am working on them for my own personal use. they'll be in 1/8 scale. mike to get that effect correct you must anodize the piece first and then finish machine it. painting it will never look "correct". i am probably going to redo the front welds on my 1/8 pro mod camaro that way. black anodize and then machine the inside edges of the star.
