47 year old father of two boys. My oldest is 12 and my youngest is 10. It's really because of my 10 year old that I am here. He loves to build things. It started with Legos and exploded. He is always on youtube looking for videos teaching how to build things. For is last birthday, all he wanted was cardboard and duct tape. Don't ask. Recently we both started collecting Hot Wheels and racing them on our homemade drag strip. Then he started taking them apart to paint them and try to make them faster. He is now obsessed with muscle cars. We recently picked up a 66 Shelby GT to build. The boy picked it out. I still need to order some paint but we did give it a good wash last night. We do not have a hobby store nearby so I will have to order most everything we need.

Since I have not built a model in 35 years,I decided to join up here to learn how to do it all over again. Both boys play basketball and baseball so most of our time (6-7 days a week) are spent at a ball field or gym which does not leave a lot of free time. During the day, I teach high school and when I get the chance, I love to fish. Anything else you want to know, just ask.

Hahaha, probably the funniest thing I've read.

Kids are great, but their creativity is greater, like wow, imagine what one could do with all that.

Welcome to the forums from another "newbie"!

WELCOME to the forum TN, hey I have been there and done that with my boys who are now 34 and 29, from 6yrs old through High School both played baseball and yes there was a time when we were on the road 7 days a week traveling all over NC, SC, & VA, but enjoy every minute of it cause it will be gone before you blink your eyes, I wouldn't take 3 gold monkeys for the time spent with mine, and modeling is a great way to spend quality time with them also!! BTW my hat's off to ya being a High School teacher this day and time!! :)
