weirich1 Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 (edited) I've got 2 sets of Pegasus wheels: 2301 23" T's Chrome and 1274 Chrome T's (basically Cragar 5 spoke). During test fitting on Revell's '06 Mustang GT they stick out too far. The rear axle could be trimmed down some but I wouldn't be able to use the brakes. The front suspension leaves no room for trimming on the other hand. I thought about trimming the center post on the wheel back but I don't won't to damage the chrome finish or wheel. Has anybody used these on this kit? Any suggestions? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Update as of 3:45pm: the 23"s are too wide and stick out past the fenders! I think these tires wheels will get saved for another project! Edited December 28, 2007 by weirich1
djway3474 Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 I have narrowed the mounting post on many sets and when thats not enough I have narrowed the tire and wheel itself. You can paint the raw plastic silver or prep in and spray alclad. If you smooth it all out well no one ever knows. Dwayne
LVZ2881 Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 I have always had to cut down the center posts when using pegasus wheels....
Lyle Willits Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 These arent' "T's" but they ARE Pegasus wheels. Simply slice off the back of the wheel to whatever width you want, including the axle mounting post and sand smooth. Paint the exposed sanded plastic rim with silver, aluminum, etc. They really can't be seen, even when displaying the model on a mirror.
weirich1 Posted December 29, 2007 Author Posted December 29, 2007 (edited) Just got done modding the center posts with the "Chicago Electric Rotary Tool" and re-drilled the axle rod hole. May have to do a little more modding once I test fit the chassis to the body. Thanks for the ideas. As of December 30th around 5pm: just finished removing what was left of the center post, going to devise another way to attach. Edited December 30, 2007 by weirich1

As in cutting up the back??? a picture is priceless!!I cannot ever cut them flat...so they wobble!!!
lowriderphil Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I mainly use the wire wheels from pegasus but I have used the T's before. I bought the chicago electric mini table saw a while back and I use that to get straight cuts
weirich1 Posted January 20, 2008 Author Posted January 20, 2008 Found some thin plastic (looked likes a piece you get when you buy epoxy), cut thin strips to fit inside the wheel. Next I was able to push a Revell wheel back into the Pegasus wheel. Just have to wait and see if this assembly will fit the fender well properly.
