blazeryz Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Hello, I've never built a model kit before, i just ordered my first one a couple of days ago and i've been reading as much as i can for these past few days. SInce i've never done this before i can only assume, but i think i'd like to hand paint my models. i searched for information about brush painting the body of the model but failed to find any useful stuff. so, my question is - is it possible for me to hand paint an entire model? i'm especially interested to hear your opinions about the model's body itself of course. I'm a kind of an OCD guy in pretty much everything i do so i'm not affraid of painstaking work to get things perfect. I'm fresh out of the box in this hobby so i hope i provided all the details you guys need. Thanks in advance, Yarin.
cobraman Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 I think you would be much happier if you spray painted at least the body. I have seen some brush painted ones that looked pretty good if wet sanded and polished but that's a lot more work than doing it with spray paint. Either way you decide to go, good luck to you and post some photos.
blazeryz Posted April 20, 2014 Author Posted April 20, 2014 (edited) Thank you for the quick reply Ray. Can you guys provide me with more comments on this matter? i would love to hear from additional folks who painted their models by hand. Edited April 20, 2014 by blazeryz
my80malibu Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 If you access to spray paints use them, Considering it is your first Model kit, and we Don't know your skill level. Brush painting might be the way to go. You've got to crawl before you can walk. However don't let that OCD thing get in the way.
