youpey Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 i have never seen this. i was working on a tub interior, where i wanted the floor to be a slightly different color from the door panels. i liquid masked the door panels and sprayed the interior and last night when i was pulling off the mask, i found in some places the liquid mask pulled the primer off. i have never seen that before, i dont remember, but maybe i didnt wash the interior before painting.
vypurr59 Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 What brand of liquid mask did you use? I have only seen this happen when parts were not washed good before priming.
om617 Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Same happend to me when i used Microscale. I used Tamiya clear, and it was like an reaction or somthing.
youpey Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 i think it was a reaction. i think the paint i used was not the best choice. it melted a plastic cup i was using to brush paint some stuff....ultimately i am starting over with a new paint
Speedfreak Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 (edited) Mike, What kind of paint melted the plastic cup? Edited May 8, 2014 by Speedfreak
youpey Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 (edited) krylon satin iris http://www.amazon.com/Krylon-K05356800-Decorator-Satin-Enamel/dp/B007ZPO9Q4 i was surprised when i fell a drip on my leg while painting and look up and the work table is dripping with paint. thankfully it hit my leg and not the carpet. paint on the work table and my old shorts are OK...carpet, that would be hard to explain. NOTE: i am sure nobody cares, but i didnt get it from amazon, just the first link i found of the actual paint. Edited May 8, 2014 by youpey
