Lovefordgalaxie Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 If you can get your hands on some Tulio, Modelhaus makes fantastic white wall tires. I buy the repops of the old "Satco" wide whites from him & I love them! Not exactly cheap either at $8.50 a set, but I think they look so much better than printed or painted ones. I just bite the bullet & buy them 4 or 5 sets at a time. I just shoot a coat of flat white or white primer over the whitewall insert to eliminate the little bit of "shininess". Steve DSCN3002.JPG '61 Pontiac 6.jpg Yep, I know the "product" (have a set of their white line tires), the quality is great, I just don't like the fact the tires don't have manufacturer names on them.I think this is the main reason I never bought more of their tires, but if I do, this is really the case of buying more than one set, considering the cost of sending the tires to Brazil, buying just one set would make no sense. I also need a set of replacement wheel covers for my '62 Galaxie Sunliner, that came with only the custom wheels when I got her. Maybe I'll pay Modelhaus's site a visit in the future. Depending on the tire, I think painted whitewalls can look good. For example, the Firestones on the '36 Ford, they do look good with painted whitewalls, but are incorrect for a 1960's car. The Firestone Supremes also from AMT, do look awful with wide white walls painted, but do look good with white lines.
