Hello fellow modelers !

My name is Rok aka Biggie. Been building plastic model kits of airplanes and military vehicles (mostly tanks) in the past. A few years of modelling pause has followed. Many of you know how it works with the hobby going ON and OFF, huh.

So when model making was in OFF mode I became very passionate about collecting diecast model cars mainly in scale 1:18 and 1:24 of brands Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, Smart and UNIMOG. More than 3500 models and toys from around the world are currently part of Mercedes collection, not counting other brands (like Pagani, Lamborghini etc.) of model cars.

Back to story: So from a few hundred non assembled model kits of airplanes (majority of them in 1:72 & russian aviation) and other military related stuff (1/35) i slowly started to collect even Mercedes-Benz plastic model kits ( I said to myself many times I will not collect plastic Benzes) no matter the scale but then again most are in 1:24.

So here I am & hopefully will start on a plastic project soon. I have done some custom diecast model cars in the meantime (much harder to work on ZAMAK / diecast cars especially when converting from coupe to cabriolet for example - Dremel tool suffers a lot  ).

Other hobbies would be; model railways (HO + N + G/Maxi scale), radio controlled cars, jeeps, trucks, busses, tanks, ships, planes, helicopters, hovercrafts and must mention also one submarine. No rockets at the moment :P ooow and stamp collecting from time to time (only TRAIN stamps will do the magic).

Also very active member in 1:1 automotive world scene (president of Mercedes-Benz club Slovenia  ) and leading & developing online info portal and forum Mercedes-Benz Slovenija ( I love IT and SEO).

If you have any questions just ask,

Sending you all warm regards from Slovenia.

Take care & happy modelling!

Rok

Rok,

Welcome to this forum! I remember the old days when people could only correspond with pencil and paper, now we have the means to share hobby interests across the globe, and to travel in a virtual way to so many places. I just dropped the name of your city into the Google Maps site, and then arbitrarily placed the Streetmobile person on a randomly picked street, and now I can see that some parts of town have limited parking. Amazing technology.

And I remember when diecast cars had very poor detailing compared to what all the companies offer today.

Rok, you have a nice website, thanks for the link. I would never have guessed your collection would be as big and comprehensive as it is. Quite impressive and welcome to the forum.

Thank you for your warm welcomes !

@Russell C; I agree with you on what technology enables us to do / see / learn / communicate / sell/buy etc. these days all at a glimpse of an eye.

Certainly diecast models evolved in details in the past two decades, but so did the price -_- Current high end models and also budget ones are selling at ridiculous prices !

@slusher; Tnx, feeling good already :D

@Ridge Rider; Thank you for your kind words, website is kind of old school (HTML) but getting a lot of traffic, so I will keep it in this format and build a new modern one alongside (glimps into the future Mercedes collection diecast model cars or even better -> Mbusa)
