BLOODBANE Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 I got this kit a little bit ago, and 1:1 Samurais are kinda my thing right now, so here goes.... Start.... Since I can leave well enough alone, I had to mod it to be a trail runner... I had to cut the axles off the springs (they are molded as one piece). The T-Case and drive shafts had to come apart as well.
BLOODBANE Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 Here is the rest..... I had the So-Real Boggers so on it they went. Some trimming is in order.... Here it is with the stock kit tires....
BLOODBANE Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 (edited) Here is where Im at now.... I got some solid styrene rod which I will use to make some bumpers and a "snatch" T-case cradle (yes thats the actual name of it, I have one on my 87 Samurai) Here is my main inspiration for this build.... It doesnt have Boggers on it (I do have a Ranger with Boggers though).... Thanks for looking...Mark Edited May 19, 2014 by BLOODBANE
REDNECK7109 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Dude that looks sick! Whered you get those tires?
BLOODBANE Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 They are So-Real Boggers (you can find them on E-Bay sometimes). A lot of the resin Boggers are molded after them. I have had these a while. B-n-L had the inner rims to make everything fit right (kit rims inside the bead-locks)
REDNECK7109 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Definitely gonna be a pretty little puddle skipper! Thanks for the information on the tires. Looked them up on eBay. They are running 39.99 without rims . Are they 36 inch?

Tom Geiger Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I always thought these little Suzukis were cool. I rented one in Aruba and it was so much fun cruising around the island that I bought a Geo Tracker once back home. The above is one my daughter and I built together many years ago.
BLOODBANE Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 (edited) Heres a bit of an update on this... I built some bumpers... they turned out pretty good.... I tried to copy the TrailTough 1:1 bumpers and I think they are pretty close.... There are a few differences, but this is close enough for me. Gonna call this one finished. It is curbside, so no engine pics Edited May 20, 2014 by BLOODBANE
HondaSan72 Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Fantastic looking build. Love the scratch built bumpers. Those wheels are so sick. Great job. I had a 1:1 back in '94. It was one of the most fun rides I ever had... So versatile. I bought 2 of these to build... But I'm going in the opposite direction... Low, very low.
