These come with the old 1/24 Goodyear GT Radials and they look a little too tall, especially on the front, I was wondering what common replacements builders have used on these kits, specifically Fireball Modelworks' 1/24 BF Goodrich Radial T/A 235/60R-15 and 295/50R-15 (wide). It will be a Baldwin Motion with very slight fender flares, so it's fine if they stick out a little. Wondering if I should get a big and little set, or all one type.

Any suggestion of other tires are fine, too. I have a set of Arii/Otaki BFG's, too, but the fronts look a little small, it'd be interesting to see how they look on a built up if anybody has used them.

TIA!

I usually replace them with the Revell/Monogram Good Year Sports Car Specials from the '32 three window, '37 convertible and several other kits. They're my favorite street car tire.

Brett, looks like you've got a couple great ways you can do this. As Roger says, the Goodyear Sports Car Specials seem to work well on these cars, and the newer ones don't have any lettering molded to the sidewalls. If you wanted to, you could use Chief Joseph's vast array of Raised White Letter waterslide tire decals to replicate the sidewalls & lettering of many popular performance tires. He's got quite a few to choose from.

Chief Joseph also offers the following tire sizes for the BF Goodrich Radial T/A:

FMR-031 BFGoodrich Radial T/A 225/60R-15 Hard White Resin, set of 2

FMR-021 BFGoodrich Radial T/A 235/60R-15 Hard White Resin, set of 2,

FMR-032 BFGoodrich Radial T/A 275/60R-15 Hard White Resin, set of 2 WIDE

FMR-022 BFGoodrich Radial T/A 295/50R-15 Hard White Resin, set of 2 WIDE

These are also available in black rubber

One way or the other, you should be able to get the look and stance you're after.

i found a perfect set for the car I'm going to replicate in Fujimi's GT40, I tried the Sports Car Specials, but they looked a little small, especially on the front.
