gasman Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 I work For Target, I do set up work for them and earlier this morning I notice a sign that said Hot Wheels Snap Kits for $9.99. which I knew had to be the Revell kits. so I go to the back to see and sure enough. there the ex Wheels of Fire snap kits. they came assorted and all we had where the 57 Chevy, C5 Vette Coupe, and Hummer H1. a little more research I find that Target has the 1:16 scale 57 Chevy kit available online. (not cheap though, at 64.99 plus shipping, its cheaper through Model Roundup and Model Express). no full detail kits like the 32 Ford Sedan (Dangit, would have been nice to use my discount to get one of those cheap). I'm guessing maybe Hobbico would rather deal with Target then Wal-Mart. if I wouldn't have seen that sign I wouldn't have even noticed the kits. the boxes only have a tiny Revell logo on them, compared to RC2. which slapped there name on everything
Billy Kingsley Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I wonder if that's a Revell thing or a Hot Wheels thing. I think it's a good sign that they at least carry the 1/12 kit, which has no Hot Wheels markings whatsoever, even if only online. On a related topic though, it always seemed like a no-brainer to me for Hot Wheels to do kits. Especially in the Mattel area...I for one would buy a kit of the Twin Mill, Evil Weevil, etc. I have no doubts others would too....the cars wouldn't have sold so well for Hot Wheels if they weren't.
