hate to drum up an old problem, but I am getting ready to do a few t-bolts and if my mind serves me correctly, there was a problem with the kit's hood. the bubble is incorrect. I myself have no clue, being a mopar guy and all. my questions to you guys are;

- has the hood been corrected in the latest version?

- does anyone make a correct hood in resin, and...

- what is exactly wrong with the bubble? is it that bad that it needs attention? I don't mind a little inaccuracy, but if it is way off, i'd like to fix it.

I did search for this and came up with nothing on the incorrect bubble.

thanks in advance,

Tubbs

I have never heard of anything wrong with the Hood. For the Revell kits, not long ago those Kits were offered with a Stock hood "flat" but to my Knowledge everthing else was the same. You may have been negative statements about the Newly Issued Trumpeter Falcons which seem to have some significant Issues.

The teardrop scoop on the Revell Thunderbolt is too square and angular in shape and that's the biggest issue with this kit, it should be more round to be correct...I don't think Revell ever did anything to correct it so the last issues has the same squareish hood scoop.
The flat stock like hood came with the last 2 'n 1 issue wich also had dog dish hubcaps and the teardop hood is still there.

The Modelhaus does a correct resin teardrop hood for the Revell kit and I think there were more casters who had them at the time.

If we go to the Trumpeter Falcon there are almost too many faults to list.

thanks Håkan, I knew something was wrong with it, I will have to find a picture of a corrected one (or 1:1 version) and see if it is worth correcting. so there you go Gabriel, now we both know.

Besides the hood being wrong, the Thunderbolt kit is a really good one. Which one are you building? Is it the one with the red tbolt with flames on the box cover?

no Glen, although i do have one of those. i am building the new release 2in1 t-bolt. putting a modern drivetrain in, mini tubbed and steelies with slicks. it will be black, of course. greatest color since sliced bread. just a nice little street car. would love to use the flat hood, just can't bring myself to do so, there is another t-bolt in the wings, typical white drag car w/ steelies and slicks, not too many changes out of the box.
