Is there a fix or tip on "yellowing" decals? Just bought a kit from the late 1970s and the decals can be removed with water and applied but they have this yellowish on the clear parts of the decal. I want to apply them to a white background. Thanks for any tips.

This works very well for me.

1) Place decals in a zip-loc bag.

2) Tape bag to a window that get a lot of sunshine. The more intense the sun light the better

3) Leave taped bag in window for a couple of days, checking after the second day.

4) After 3 to 6 days, the decals should be bleached enough to use.

I have tried that bleaching in the sun trick a couple times and unfortunately it never worked all that well for me. all that is left is to trim away very carefully around the image and maybe inside the image too. I would also think about taking a good digital photo of the decal sheet first and then trying to print some new ones or have someone print them for you. that can really reduce the discoloration all over if done right. meanwhile good luck with the sunlight trick, hope it works out.
