kasteer Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 ok. Here's my second (green) and first (black) 41 Willys. The black one was done prior to discovering this forum... the green is very much influenced by everything I've seen here and was the first for many things for me... First hinged doors and trunk (although the lower door hinges hit the seats and prevent them from fully closing... doh! Learning experience). First attempt at using a wash (interior and engine). First time attempting such detail. First time making seat belts. First time using special glue for the windshield, lights, etc... (big difference in finish quality). You can see a big difference in build quality between the black one and the green one. Enjoy! I did... I would like to know what you think and where I should pay more attention... except the door hinges (I know to pay more attention to that now). Thanks for viewing.
Raul_Perez Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Hey, Eric, that windshield looks familiar!! (I couldn't resist...) Overall they both look great!! The Revell Willys kits make great looking models. The only suggestion I have is get some sparkplug wire that's a bit closer to scale. As I recall, you used solder for the wires. Almost any of the aftermarket model parts suppliers on the web carry scale sparkplug wire in several colors. While you're at it, get some tubing that's slightly larger in diameter than the sparkplug wire for the boots. Together, they really help make the sparkplug wires look much more realistic. Keep up the good work and the posts!! Like everything else, practice makes perfect.
