Hi Jim, I try to be careful with criticism, but I agree with Harry. The red top bites a bit. I think that the light purple though is a bit wimpy.

I can't say what may be better because I like the modern day convertible covers in black, but I don't know how to decently replicate the finish.

Scuff pads? You mean the running boards? They're staying light purple and the top has been repainted to light purple.
