Snake45 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Mocked up a Double Dragster Fiat chassis today in anticipation of a future project. Just for the helluvit, I measured the wheelbase. It scales out to 102", if that little factoid is of interest to anyone. Just for giggles, I held up an AMT '66 Mustang funnycar body over it. It came darn close to fitting. The Mustang wheelbase was actually just a bit shorter, maybe two scale inches (stock Mustang wheelbase was 108"), but you could either live with it or make it work perfectly with slight tweaking. Coincidence? Or just...interesting? PS: Wheelbase of the C1 (pre-'63) Corvette is also...102". Do with this information what you will.
10thumbs Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Interesting. I have the feeling lots of stuff is interchangeable. I checked out four early Revell F/C kits, 3 are identical, even the parts numbers, and the 4th is just a bit different. Good info when looking to do some altereds in the near future. Michael
