I was wanting to build a new COPO drag car and was wondering what the best method would be for converting the rear to a solid axle set-up. Any help or pics would be greatly appreciated.

I would start with reference pics of the subject. I suspect it's a mini-tubbed unibody with some sort of 4 link, but don't take my word. I would suggest watching the episode of Fast & Loud (Gas Monkey Garage) where Richard gets to build his own COPO. There's a lot of footage that could help with the details.

Now, if you just want to build a pro stock/street, not an exact replica, you could simply get the rear end out of any number of kits and modify the chassis to suit.

Here are two pictures of the rear suspension on the new COPO Camaro.

If you're going to build an actual COPO Camaro, I wish you good luck. I have the same project in mind, I have the kit already but currently I'm searching all of the parts I need before I can start the project.

I mostly just want to build a pro-street clone since most people wouldn't notice the difference anyways. I was thinking it was a 4-link set up with the coil over shocks.
