tubbs Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 doing a couple of thunderbolts. they have the decal that goes inside the chrome strip. will the decal stick over BMF? can I clear over that? or should I paint the inside black and trim the BMF on the inside?thanks in advance.
microwheel Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Yes you can decal over BMF. You can clear coat of you want to, but you shouldn't need to.
tubbs Posted October 30, 2014 Author Posted October 30, 2014 thanks Jim, thought that putting the decal over such a non porous surface, it may not stick so well.

Guest Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 FWIW, Bare Metal Foil is not in the least porous. Art Read again. He stated non porous which means he thought it would be too smooth for the decal to stick to. I've applied decals over foil a few times on emblems. Just use some setting solution and seal it by brushing a light coat of Future over it. In your instance Al, I would paint the center and foil. The decals may not fit perfectly.
jrherald420 Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 If that was true no decal would stick on polished paint. I do all my buffing and polishing before decals are applied.
