bismarck Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 (edited) I've seen some older reissues of this kit that have different fuel tanks. I've seen square tanks, and round tanks. Which ones have which? And do any of these reissues have steel spiders vs. chrome wheels? Edited December 9, 2014 by bismarck
Guest Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Issue #1 Square tanks and spokes Issue #2 Round Tanks and 10 hole disc Issue #3 Both types of tanks and wheels Issue #4 (The most recent to date) Round tanks and 10 hole disc, the box art does not match the actual kit
bismarck Posted December 10, 2014 Author Posted December 10, 2014 (edited) Thanks for the info. . I just bought the red one. Now I don't need to hunt for a set of spiders and square tanks... Edited December 10, 2014 by bismarck
lapazleo Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 The original issue is the only one with correct mirrors subsequent issues have simplified mirrors from the cruiseliner kit.
bismarck Posted December 10, 2014 Author Posted December 10, 2014 Are those the ones with the MACK script molded on?
lapazleo Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 yes they originals have M A C K on them but what makes them correct is the full triangle shaped brackets as opposed to a simple cabover style bracket. Look closely at issue 1 versus issue 2 and 3 and you can see the difference issue 4 box art is actually issue 1. Also you'll see issue 2 and 3 the mirrors are way to short to be of any use.
bismarck Posted December 11, 2014 Author Posted December 11, 2014 Looks like I've got some scratch building to do.. Thanks for the heads up
Bennyg Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Hopefully the next release they do will have the spiders and square tanks. Ben
Bennyg Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Looks like I've got some scratch building to do.. Thanks for the heads up You can get spider wheels from auslowe. Auslowe also does square mack tanks but they are more for the f series or secondary fuel tanks for old r series as australian trucks need more fuel tanks. The mirror arms would be easy enough to scratch build. The tanks would be a bit harder. Cheers. Ben
