10thumbs Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 What a cool old Chevy! A 59 Impala, wow. Those cars used to fascinate me as a kid, and looking back, what a fantastic imagination Detroit designers showed. Amazing, every year a different car, and me and my brother could not wait till end September when the new models were parked in driveways, or cruising down the avenues. Bruce, you did good. I like! bbowser Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 Many thanks to everyone for all the kind words! Jeremy, I had the same problem with the steering box. I was able to get it in on the chassis but when I went to the always anguishing final assembly it didn't hit the firewall the way it should. Oh well, can't really see it down in there anyway. I have always loved the '59 the best of all the Impalas, something about the bat wings and cat's eye taillights just get me. I may try another, single color. I'd like to do Zora Arkus-Duntov's black Biscayne (or was it a Bel Air?)
DR JAY Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 As someone who has just finished one of those, I can agree completely about foiling it...I have a Hudson that is still in the box and unstarted due to my dislike of the process. You did an excellent job on this one.
