Monty Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 It's somewhat close to the color I want for a future project, but I'd like to know whether it's translucent enough that shooting it over a dark primer will make it appear to be a slightly darker shade before I commit to buying the paint.
High octane Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 YES it will appear darker, as that's a "given."
Guest Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 It's not translucent like a candy color would be. Here's what two coats of paint and four coats of clear look like over gray primer. The pearl is so fine and in scale that my camera can't pick it up unless it's in bright sun light. The TS-13 clear will also darken it slightly. Especially, if you spray four coats over it. I found that out the hard way on this model. The chassis has one coat of clear and the body has four. You can't see it in this photo. But, there's a noticeable difference in color between the chassis and firewall/scallops.
