Platerpants Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 With my 78 "Heritage Edition" project winding down im Looking for parts to build a 78 F250 2wd. It was my Great Gradfather's then passed on to My Grandfather. Its got a straight 6, regular wheelbase long bed, and round headlights. Not to mention hubcaps. Pictures of it have been thrown around on this forum before so many of you may have seen it. Oh yeah and the cab and bed dont have trim. For an ohio truck it has very little rust. I just want to replicate it for fun to join my 1:1 replicas Thanks for the help.
Fat Brian Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 The '79 Firestone truck that's out now is as close as you're going to come to that truck. You'll have to sand the trim off and if you're really ambitious convert it back to a standard long bed instead of the camper special the kit represents, taking a quarter inch out in front of the wheel well and adding it behind the wheel well should do it. The camper special also has a toolbox molded into the passenger side bed side which will need to be filled. The kit also has square lights you'll need to fix. The straight six from the Moebius '69 will be perfect for the engine.
Kris Morgan Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Jake, I just started casting a grille with round headlights. It was master by Chuck Most ( a member here that does very nice work). PM me if you are interested in getting one.
