Hickboy313 Posted January 13, 2015 Share Posted January 13, 2015 just a quick question for the drag racing die hards..Wondering about the 64 impala ss,looking to build a super stock/stock class racer theme..i cant seem to find any references of anyone campaigning a 64..Anyone know of such a car that was around? espo Posted January 13, 2015 Share Posted January 13, 2015 I remember seeing '64 Impalas at the Winter Nationals at Pamona. The 409's were still very strong in the stock class, but they had some Impalas with the bench seat and Aluminum front ends and the 427 version of the 409. These were in what was called A/FX class. All of the factories were doing some interesting things at that time. Mopars with 426 wedges with 2-4 short ram intakes. Ford was putting a very "bad" 427 with high rise 2-4s in Fairlanes and Comets.
