Thanks guys for all the interest. I got some primer on for a visual to see what needs more attention.

Nice progress looks like you nailed the extra length on the cab.

Dan - It did turn out to be a little challenging. The cab tapers slightly towards the back. So when the two pieces were lined up, there was about a 1mm lip sticking out on the rear half. With help from the Dremel and a aluminum sanding board I was able to make the two surfaces flush.

Some more updates, nothing real exciting but time consuming. The interior tub now fits the cab, and we have a double bed.

The floor frame - You will either want to laugh or cry at my crude method for making that section.

Those are .020" strips of styrene all glued together to make one.

Just to give you an idea of the old glue removal involved, I have not cleaned the interior floor yet

Thanks for looking in :)

For thinking outside the box and boldly going where no man has ever gone before, you are hereby awarded a highly esteemed (but if the truth be known, essentially worthless) official Atta Boy.

VERY original. I really like it. Black would look really good on this! Darn nice looking prototype.

Rolling right along, tackled my number one nemeses - Exhaust stacks (lets not forget the piping yet not done)

They may not be centered in the pic as they are just sitting on the frame for checking plumb

Thanks for looking and commenting. :)

This is looking pretty darn awesome, Man.....Rare to see anyone tackle one like this.....Excellent idea for a restoration.....As rare as this kit is, I think this is the only way to do it is with an old built up.....Awesome.....

Thanks guys :D

I tried to replicate the air filter canister as on the 1/1 truck. *Car guys look away* having no tubing of suitable size I robbed my parts cabinet. Oh yes 1970's Crager SS wheels (yeah the good ones) looked to be just right. Some elbows from a Snap Pete kit worked out just right also.

Only the canister is mounted to the frame, everything else is held in place with "white glue"

Once the Detroit is installed I will fabricate the rest.

Thanks for looking in :)
