Mr. Can Am Garage Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 As some of you may know, I'm building a front bench seat for a '67 Impala. It's been absolute ages since I was in a car with a front bench and I'm wondering about some of the details. One mainly. Should there be vinyl pinstriping (not the right term but it's all that's coming to mind right now) on either side of the split?
MrObsessive Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 John, I think you mean "piping". Yes, I've seen most cars have piping that goes around the individual seat backs........on the cushion part (where your rump sits ) it would just go around the side across the front, onto the other side. Which direction it goes will depend on the model/year/ pattern you're doing.
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted July 23, 2006 Author Posted July 23, 2006 "piping" That's the word! Thanks Bill!

Did you know that Modelhaus sells a resin front bench for the '67 Impala?
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted July 24, 2006 Author Posted July 24, 2006 Did you know that Modelhaus sells a resin front bench for the '67 Impala? No. Wish I had especially it it's made to fit the current AMT/ERTL '67 Impala kit.
John Bowman Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 No. Wish I had especially it it's made to fit the current AMT/ERTL '67 Impala kit. Yes it fits the AMT/ERTL kit perfectly. I also got their std hood and non-SS427 grill.

John Bowman Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 I've got the hood, grille and the wheels. Might have to order the seat from them. The seat is part of the '67 Chev station wagon resin kit. I am not sure if it is listed seperately but it can be purchased seperately.
