Fragmenter Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 (edited) Hi guys. Wondering what I should use to strip a bad paint job with. I have seen several different techniques. I want to make sure I don't damage the body. Spray primer, and testors spray enamel. Edited February 2, 2015 by Fragmenter
disabled modeler Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 (edited) Bryan....I use brake fluid...when that does not work I use Castrol Super Clean de-greaser straight(use of gloves is a good idea its hard on the hands and never let it dry on anything)...both will remove chrome plating..carefully use a tooth brush to gently scrub the old paint off...I wash after cleaning with warm to hot soapy water let air dry. Mike_G Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 EZ-Off oven cleaner will take off Testor's enamel, but maybe not the primer Which is okay because you can just re-sand the primer and shoot another light coat over it to even it out
Fragmenter Posted February 5, 2015 Author Posted February 5, 2015 Thanks for the response guys. Based on responses and the link shared, going to try brake fluid. We will see how this goes
