SMG Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 The car is pretty much box stock with the exception of a Parts by Parks wired distributor and Detail Master flocking. I shaved the drip rails above the doors, as I feel it makes for a much cleaner look. The paint is Tamiya rattle-can pearl white covered by Tamiya clear. This is actually the second time around for the paint, as the car was originally metallic black. I didn't like the way it came out so I stripped it down last weekend and decided to re-do it in white. Hopefully I'll get the polishing and final assembly of the body done this weekend.
theflame Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Ditto that...love a clean build! Looks great!
Raul_Perez Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Very nice, clean build!! Are you going to add the idler arm to the steering linkage? (It's the one part that our friends at Revell left out of the kit...)

SMG Posted February 11, 2008 Author Posted February 11, 2008 Thanks for the compliments guys. Well, it's almost there. This is the first car I've really attempted BMF on, so I'm only somewhat happy with the results. This is also the first time I've darkened exterior panel lines. Overall, I'm happy with the results thus far.

That always helps with the finished look and the shine. Regards,
OLDERGUY Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Really like that pearl white. very clean, good lookin.
irender Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Yup, Very clean build. And I consider a CLEAN BUILD the ultimate compliment.
OLDERGUY Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 This does and doesn't apply just to your Merc. I was looking at some Mercs in someones album and the battery was on the drivers side but it was long and narrow. I've just put this info here because I jusi remembered it while checking your's out again, and I just thought I'd throw this out there. Still think you do a really clean job on your's. I picked up two after Chrismas, have opened one and did some a mockup, got some new stuff in mail and still haven't went back to the Merc. I like how some you get in there and get'um finished.
