Jaguar man 21 Posted February 14, 2015 Author Posted February 14, 2015 (edited) color I'm trying to replicate Edited February 14, 2015 by Jaguar man 21
Monty Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 color I'm trying to replicate I'm not convinced TS-9 is gonna do it for you. Here's a Jag w/ TS-9 over a light primer Tamiya non-metallics seem to be fairly opaque, so I'm not sure if even using a black primer with TS-9 would get you the shade of green on that Mustang. Testors Fathom Green (GM color) would be a lot closer.
Jaguar man 21 Posted February 14, 2015 Author Posted February 14, 2015 Good point, and is that the tamiya mk2 I wan that kit so bad it looks really nice
Monty Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Good point, and is that the tamiya mk2 I wan that kit so bad it looks really nice I believe it is. I, ummm, stole the pic off some Eastern European site

To get a color close to that shade, I used a Duplicolor GM shade over Duplicolor dark grey/black etching primer. Unfortunately I don't recall exactly which one-either Emerald Green Pearl, or Forest Green Pearl (I have both on hand). Paid $7.99 per can at the local parts store, usually enough to paint 2-3 car bodies. Edited February 15, 2015 by Intmd8r
Jaguar man 21 Posted February 15, 2015 Author Posted February 15, 2015 Thanks guys for the tips I'll have to see what I can find
Monty Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Go to Wal-Mart and grab a pack of white plastic spoons. You can test paint/primer combinations far more cheaply that way.
Atmobil Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 You could surley get a can made up of that green? That is Ivy Green on the one pictured I think, a paintshop will probably have the recipe for that color.
Jaguar man 21 Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 Update I got two coats of primer on the body and I glued the engine in
