Hey guys, I have a question that I hope you can help with. Im scrounging up pieces for a project involving the Ford race car hauler and need some info on a car. One of several cars that I want to put on it is a 69 Torino. After doing a quick search, I found many different makes of this kit. My question is, can I get some feedback on the kits so I can steer in the right direction. I would like to know the pros and cons of the AMT, Revell, Monogram 1/24, Palmer, and Polar lights nascar version. Any opinions are greatly appreciated.

Revellogram only makes the '69 as a Talledega and it's 1/24 scale. It's a pretty nice kit with good detail. The AMT '69 is a Cobra. But, could be converted to a GT or a base Fairlane if wanted and is 1/25 scale. The chassis is it's only weak spot. But, the chassis from an AMT '66 Fairlane is a perfect fit and is pretty nice. You just need to trim the transmission tunnel on the interior tub at the rear of it. No knowledge on the rest you mentioned.

Whatever you do, forget the Palmer. I didn't even know they made a Torino, but in general, Palmer made some of the absolute worst kits ever on this (or probably any other) planet. Everything they made looked like you were looking at the car it was supposed to be...through the bottom of an old Coke bottle.

The Polar Lights kit is NASCAR only, cannot be built as as a street car and builds up nice after you fix the nose that runs up hill at the center of the front wheels. Avoid the Palmer kit at all cost.
