FordRodnKustom Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 (edited) I finished the mill, polished the body, blacked out the appropriate panels and this weekend I worked on the chassis . Just need to find some good rear shocks to simulate Gabriel Hyjackers and I'll be ready to put all this together and move on to my least favorite part of a build....the interior Edited March 17, 2008 by Ron S.
Raul_Perez Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Oh yeah!! One of my favorite colors on one of my favorite MOPARs!! The chassis details are looking really good!!
Don B Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 It's really starting to take shape Ron. Looking good and very clean. Can't wait to see it finished.
FordRodnKustom Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 I added the rear shocks today. From the parts box, to look like period Gabriel Hijackers. I thought they would be just about right with the Lakewood traction bars.
LVZ2881 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 looks really good!! I need to get back on my 440+6 conversion...
Clay Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I just wanted to know how you guys detail the attached exhaust so easily?
FordRodnKustom Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 I just wanted to know how you guys detail the attached exhaust so easily? Hey Clay, it's not that easy, at least not for me!! This job took about a solid 90 minutes of focused attention to finish. I used testor's metallizers brushed out of the jar with various sized brushes, reading glasses, a support for old my shakey hand and lot's of patience

Don B Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Hey Ron, Wow the rear shocks really do look like Gabriels. Nice touch. Keep up the great work.
Don B Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Ron BTW do you have anymore of those lakewood tractionbars laying around?
FordRodnKustom Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 Ron BTW do you have anymore of those lakewood tractionbars laying around? Yeah, got a few. Need some??
FordRodnKustom Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 Hi all, I finished the chassis and wheel set last night. Just a few touch ups here and there and I'll be ready to move on to the interior. Checking the stance here with a spare body.
Dave McFly Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 quick question, where did you get the wheels?
FordRodnKustom Posted February 17, 2008 Author Posted February 17, 2008 quick question, where did you get the wheels? Thanks for your interest Dave. I cobbled these rims together using the mags in the first issue ReveloGram 37 Ford sedan kit. I hogged out the centers, then trimmed and fit some center steelie sections from parts box rims. The caps are from the last issue '70 Road runner kit.
Don B Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Ron. I like the wheels, they look great with the valve stems and the wheel weights...Nice touch! BTW the stance has that 70's aggressive look. Nice work. Keep us posted as you progress.
FordRodnKustom Posted February 26, 2008 Author Posted February 26, 2008 Finished the interior, now on to BMF, final details and assembly
Junkman Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 I just wanted to know how you guys detail the attached exhaust so easily? Wodka.

No offense, just my taste.
FordRodnKustom Posted February 27, 2008 Author Posted February 27, 2008 Great modelling. Still, if there is one thing I hate, it's steelies with dog dishes. No offense, just my taste. To each his own. No offense taken.
Don B Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Ron keep the steelies. They look GREAT with that color. The real 70's look. Guess you had to be there back in the day.
FordRodnKustom Posted March 9, 2008 Author Posted March 9, 2008 Finished the BMF and a few other body details today. Those gills were a B***H !
