jarrett713 Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 i have a "noob" question. i have recently started building a huge project. i have the 90 mustang revell drag kit that i'm modifying a lot. i was wondering if anybody had ever made their own beadlocks before instead of paying so much for a set. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, jarrett
shift13 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Cheapest way would to be to buy dirtmodeler beadlock rings they are pretty inexpensive
shift13 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Inexpensive. I dont like calling parts cheap
randx0 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) They are only $4.75 , which is a bargain if you take the time involved to make them into consideration. Dirtmodeler is a great company to order from fast delivery and very reasonable prices . As far as making them yourself it kind of depends on what materials you have on hand. It would probably be easier to find a set of rims that has the bead locks on them already. One idea that occurred to me is using paper to make them just cut it out and strengthen it with an epoxy then paint . I can't think of a cheaper way to do it hope this is helpful.
