landman Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Building odels on a tight budget can be frustrating and challeneging! But I learned a long time ago. To always budget a little money for your self. For your hobby or whatever. I worked hard all my life, and most of the time lived pay check to paycheck. And I did buy things for the models even when the budget was tight. but you have to enjoy life and for me models is a great way to do that. Now that I am retired. I amdoing better but still try to live within a set budget. And yes that includes things for the hobbies . You seem to be having a hard time trying to justify to everyone what you are building and why. I suggest you build for yourself satisfaction and personal enjoyment. Build what you want ,how you want it. Be Well Gator I agree with this 350%...maybe more.
fantacmet Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 (edited) Oh believe me I'm not justifying to anybody for squat. It started as a request to which engine paint color is closer to reality. Then it dawned on me oh wait a minute, custom truck. Also it's not possible to budget something that does not exist. Now back to the build. Got the axles painted a couple of days ago and forgot about them until I spotted them. The fun part of this is going to be getting all the wheels on the ground. My idea for that so far is to do the steer axle, the pusher, and then with those on wheels/tires, put the wheels and tires on the other two axles and then put the axles in place and use maybe some superglue and accelerator to lock them in, so I don't have any wheels lifted. If anyone has a better solution for this I'm ALL ears. Edited April 17, 2015 by fantacmet
