angelo7 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Are there semi trailers in 18 or 36 feet length in real life? I know of 30, 40 or 53 feet, but I can not find photos or reference to those other lengths.
Petetrucker07 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 I've 34'ers. No 18s, but 28s yes.Most modern set of doubles are 28 foot each
angelo7 Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 (edited) That was quick! Thanks Clayton. Just bought a trailer kit on ebay and it says it can be a 18 or 36 feet. Check it out. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lindberg-Box-Flat-Bed-Semi-Trailer-Kit-1-25-Scale-Bagged-Kit-NO-Box-Special-/321680565478?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ae5a7e4e6 I want to build a short trailer with single axle. Petetrucker07 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 That's different. The 36 makes more sense than an 18. But the 18 might be kitted from long ago. Maybe 30s or 40s before the rrgs were big.
Fat Brian Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 That's the old IMC trailer, the tanker is the same way and can be built in a long or short version. These were done a long time ago and don't really represent any specific model of trailer and were long before lengths really got standardized. It was intended for the Dodge L700 kit which is a medium duty truck.
angelo7 Posted February 28, 2015 Author Posted February 28, 2015 Thanks Brian! I'll try to modify it to make a 27 feet trailer. Will have to do some cutting.
Fat Brian Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I've got a few of these too, they're alright with a little TLC.
highway Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I've seen 35 foot tandem axle trailers for local delivery companies.
