I've heard some rumors of a pending sale on a couple of sites, but nothing regarding to whom.

Can't get much worse than currently, they wouuldn't even be producing any models right now if it were not for The Model King and Stevens. I'm hoping they get someone who will do for AMT what has been happening with Revell and Lindberg new tools and re-issues that haven't been around for awhile.

I didn't know that Lindberg did an "overhaul". I had some bad luck with a couple of their car models at one time and haven't bought any since. They were really bad. Had the same experience with Minicraft. :D Does Lindberg put out any truck models and if they do, would it be worth while to get them?

Catch you later,

Yes Lindberg and Hawk are under the same management now, and so far they have done a new Dodge Charger which sounds like it is a good kit, and they have brought back quite a few older kits that were getting hard to get and expensive on ebay. The Dodge A100 pickup "Little Red Wagon" and the Dodge L700 cabover tractor. The L700 is currently available with a flat bed and a 1940 Ford as the load, the whole kit tractor, trailer and car runs around $30. The L700 is a tired mold so it has a fair bit of flash but it is available. It is supposed to be released later this year as a stand alone tractor and as I understand it the mold is being reworked to improve the quality but I may be wrong on that last part. The also have the 1934 Pickup again which is a nice 3 in 1 kit, its the only one I've built so far.

Lindberg turned out some so so and bad kits in the past but I understand the kits they did in the last few years were good quality, and I haven't heard anything bad about the kits released last year.

Thanks for the info. ;) That's what I was wanting to know about Lindberg. I have the Dodge Li'l Red Express (AMT) coming from eBay, which, I got for a decent price ($8.00) but see some Li'l Red Wagons on eBay by Lindberg but a little pricey after they have been up for awhile.

Take care, Win

You can see their line up and pricing here, model roundup is a pretty decent online shop too if you can't find these locally.

The '37 Cord, '35 Auburn and '48 Lincoln are kits I've heard you reeeeaaaaally need to want one to subject yourself to building them. Apparently a lot of problems so I'd ask around before buying them so you know what you are in for. Probably good advice for any of these but I understand most are average to good quality.

Ever since I heard about the Autocar A64B reissue, I've been confused as well. The A64B box is the original box art with the Stevens International logo added, without any mention of Ertl (except the AMT/Ertl logo on the bottom). However, I just bought an AMT/Model King '70 Camaro Z-28, which shows the AMT/Ertl logo on the main part of the box. What's the deal?

The AMT logo on the Autocar A64B kit is the old 1970's AMT logo. The Ertl name was added when Ertl bought AMT back in the days when Ertl was one brand and AMT another. (Think "White-Freightliner" or "Volvo-White-GMC")

Yep, I got that part. I'm just wondering if they split or something.

Also, what's with their Stevens International & Model King partnerships? Are they distributors of some exclusive AMT-Ertl models?

In addition, how far back do these partnerships go? I have an AMT-Ertl Chevy Bison kit (which I'll get to soon, by the way) with the Stevens Int'l logo on one side, which suggests that it's gone as far back as 2003.

Yes, they contract exclusive kits. Basically they order and buy the whole production run. They don't have the Stevens logo but I believe the American LaFrance kits re-issued in 2001 were ordered by Stevens.
