tuffone20
I have the AMT 70's Monte Carlo lowrider that I'm building for next mouth's club theme is any year Monte Carlo. Here are some photos of what I have painted so far and what I'm asking I guess is how I should detail it from there? Let me know what you think so far? Paint is HOK Met. Green Thanks and go easy on me as I'm just not the lowrider type. Edited March 23, 2009 by tuffone20
mademan
looks great so far. often times lowriders are painted with "patterns" and such, here is a QUICK how to I threw together over on the LowDownCreations forum Mademans HOW TO "lowrider patterns" also, check out Layitlow.com/forums check the model forums for insperation. Hope this helps!! remember too, little things to add to realism of a lowrider - switchbox, scaled down lowrider magazines, wire wheels, lots of chrome and or gold, pinstriping, which can be achieved by using gel pens ( but you must be very careful and clear over it, as they will not dry) thx, Mike aka Mademan Edited February 8, 2009 by mademan
tuffone20
Thanks Mike, I'll check it that site out. Not sure if I want to go crazy with the paint job as I'm really just getting into using an airbrush. I planing on using some ALCLAD chrome on the frame and here is a photo of the 2 sets of wheels I'm thinking about using just not sure which set yet. evilone
Looks like your on a good start bro.Not all lowriders need patterns on them so you don't need to worry about that.Im sure there are people such as (Mr.Biggs,me,rollin oldschool, and Mademan) are willing to help if you ask. Also go get yourself a Lowrider magazine that will provide lots of ideas for you in the long run.And like mademan suggested go to Layitlow.com or lowdowncreations.com i personally am on both these sites and they are full of ideas and people to help you out.Hope this wont be your only lo lo because your on a great track already. my80malibu
Its really lookin good so far Marty. If you want to put a mural on it the simplest way would be too use a rub on style tattoo, The kind that you find in those 50 cent vending machines at the grocery stores. or you could just use some pinstripe decals along the side's which would look good too. Gabriel I never thought about doing that? Might have to try it on another build. This one I'm going to keep it simple. Dragon7665
Great Job So Far, coming along nicely Not a fan of the Yeller Gold Cragar's, especially since all I am seeing is Silver Accents throught-out the rest of your build Gold D's are halfway tolerable on a Lowrida, but preferably with a Chrome Lip..... I have a few more things I want to do to it before I post it in the under class area. I kind of ran out of time on the build and need to do a little more BMF on it.
