Chris D
Hi all, I purchased the vinyl top kit (actually 4 of them) from Model Car Garage. I installed the first one and while it turned out ok and looks good, I had a heck of a time getting the vinyl off the backer. Was this unusual? If it is normal, what tricks have you guys come up with to get the vinyl and backing separated without worry of ripping the vinyl roof material (which happened twice for me) ? Krazy Rick
Hey Chris, try placing the piece on a heating pad ( set on low, vinyl facing up ) , for 5 minutes; it will make it much easier to seperate. Chris D
Scott, The vinyl roof is for a 1968 firebird kit from revell Krazy Rick, I suspected heat would help soften the adhesive but wasn't sure how to go about it. A heating pad sounds like a good solution, I will give that a try. Thanks guys, Chris

Chris D Yeah, I did one on my 1972 Buick Skylark I built. I ran into the same problems. It was stuck to the backing so hard it would tear. I finally got it applied and it turned out ok.
