Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right area for this topic, but here goes.
As I read books on tabletop machining and prepare to purchase a Sherline setup, I'd love to see some of your machined parts for inspiration. What have you made? How have you incoporated into your builds?
THANKS

Milling machine & Lathes

Greetings all,
Thinking about learning how to mill my own metal parts. I have been reading a little, looking at some videos, and checking out the Sherline site.
I think some of you folks mill your own stuff. And I am wondering what's the best way to get started? I am not an engineer, I am a advertising writer. So the CNC stuff looks pretty daunting to me. BUT I am dying to make my own velocity stacks, engine blocks etc. I think it's something I can learn to do.
There is a great shop near my work that has a very nice Sherline package of both a milling machine and lathe, with all the necessary attachments. Pretty pricy @ 2900. Thoughts?
Thanks for your help!

Hi guys,
Been working on this model for a while as part of the Foreign CBP. But I think it's closing and I'm not done. So I thought I'd share the progress here. Love to hear any comments. THANKS

Help Needed: Best way to cut plastic winshield?
18 September 2012 - 03:04 AM
Hey guys,
I am sure this has been covered before, but a search didn't turn up any useful results.
I want to remove / shorten the driver's side door "glass" on the 1:24 Porsche 904 GTS I am building. I want the "viewer" to be able to get a good look at the interior without the reflection of pastic in the way. The formed part has botht the door glass and the rear quarter window as one piece. I want to remove / cut it in half without damaging the plastic.
Thanks.
Jon
