i personally love the new re-issue look Charger with the louvered doors and air-grabber hood and the only reason why i would buy this kit is because of these. I'm not worried as much as other bean counters about this kit being 100% factory correct. And who knows if ya do @SteveG a future release with hideaway headlight edition would be neat too. Alot of different options for a builder to choose. I'm sure as always future releases would depend on sales of current releases. Charger base could flip over to say a 71/72 Road Runner 😉spinoff...

I initially was leaning toward updating the Mueller era '71 Duster kit into a Dodge Demon, but those kits all pre-date the use of 3D files. Watching the struggle to modify the '67 Impala SS tooling into the Supernatural 4 door, and still keep all of the original tooling intact was a real eye opener. Once I factored in the price tag and how long that one took, the decision to clone the original MPC version became the clear choice. As a bonus, we now have the ability to easily expand it to other variations of the MPC Mopar A-bodies that shared a lot of the same basic design which I've already started working toward. I'm not going to give any further clues on what those projects may or may not be, but I've got some great possibilities.
Although I do appreciate the being recognized for my contributions, it really is team effort from by everyone at both Round2 and our overseas partners who do most of the design work, tooling and literally all the heavy lifting.

In saying this Steve i will already start the lobbying for a 73/74 A-body Duster, which as you say "shared a lot of the same basic design" and wheelbase or even a 70 Dart perhaps I will have to attempt to expand my living life another 10 plus years to get all these new kits built, haaa

@tim boydthanks for your update and knowledge for those of us who cant make these events. Cheers

delays are okay in my book, better product and quality works for me...

We would still like to run the '81 Camaro kit this year but I'm not holding my breath waiting of it. If it's not resolved, we may end up moving the tooling which will delay it into next year.

The Demon was never on the Round 2 website, or any print listing from them. It was the USA-1 Vega kit that was shown on the website as "coming soon" for a couple of years early on. Then it disappeared and returned several years later.
yes sir it was listed on their site, somewhere around i even have a picture of that, as i could not believe it at the time...

Round 2 never actually announced a Demon kit prior to now. Someone spread their wish list around, and a couple of eBay sellers took pre-orders based on that.
The Demon was listed on the round 2 website as "coming soon" a few years back, then it suddenly got pulled off.

the gods have been listening to me, the Demon has been uncrated My life is now complete, haaa

Regrettably I will be missing the NNL East this year.
But I think that there is a good chance that there will be at least one (and possibly more???) "bombshell" new model car kit announcement(s) at the NNL East this weekend.
For the benefit of those of us who do not use Facebook or other social media, can those of you who are attending post any applicable new kit announcements (with photos if possible) here the MCM forum?
Thanks in advance and have a great time at the show....TIM
(PS -at times in the I've been proven wrong on these predictions - so don't take this guess as being gospel....just sayin'....TB)
An option Tim is to watch for videos on youtube. There is a few guys out there that attend these events and post whats coming down the pipe so to speak. There seems to be alot of talk on a Maverick kit coming out, That kit would defiantly be on my hit list.
Cheers,
Chuck S

Say what ? No early 70's Demon yet, Sighhh. I guess the GTO will have to due for now, haaa. It looks like it should work into a nice build...
-
i'm going to guess one of the announcements is a 68 Coronet/superbee hardtop after the newly released convert kit...
-
I will take the Camino and the Superbee for the win Bob...
-
gotta love the Manitoba plates 👍
-
if made,,, i would more than likely at the very least buy at least 2 of each. I never in my life would have thought the Grumpy Vega would comeback,,, so anything is possible here...
-
hoping a hardtop version of this kit comes,,, and i will chime in and say that it would be nice if they brought out a 71/72 Road Runner-GTX kit as mentioned earlier in this thread line. The Bee convert kit has 2 different grilles and the R.R. kit could do something similar of having both grille options.
-
i would defiantly take a few of these, so if the manufacturers are following this
-
Looks like a Johan GTX. Hard to find these nowadays...
-
So close to what Rambler factory colors were. Looks great as a circle track car, Kool Beans...
-
