Scale I Build

  1. Hallo, this is my latest build, the Nissan Fairlady 240ZG, used by Japanese highway police in 1970's. It's OTB plus some embossing powder for the carpet and BMF for the window frames. Interior: Chassis: Indoor pics:
  2. Finished the MSP Ford this morning. Hope you dig it.
  3. Once again, thanks for the ad. As a disclaimer, my focus is mainly on building cop cars and emergency type vehicles. Everyone has their niche and that happens to be mine. Enough of that. Stared at this kit for a few months and couldn't decide what agency I wanted it to be. Finally, after some google searching, I decided it's gonna end up a Minnesota state patrol car. So I did some digging and found they used Furys in 70 but did use Ford custom 500's in 69. We'll, the 70 is gonna have to work after seeing that Maroon color. I wasn't getting terribly specific about the engine. Apparently the kit doesn't come with the correct one, so I may bend a little truth on that and just generalize it as a 390. Bottom line is that I just don't see a lot of Minn State Patrol cars being done and this is my attempt.
  4. Had a good friend that's retired from Detroit and wanted a model of his car done. Problem is that good luck finding a 73 Fury in 1/25 scale. Sooooo, I cannibalizes 2 JoHan 68 Pursuit cars and did what I could. Glad to be part of the group.
  5. Built this a while back. Knocked the dust off to put the board. Hope you enjoy.
  6. Here is a project I have been working on from time to time. I always wanted to do a model of the Diplomats the Louisiana State Police fielded from 1981-1982. The '81's were different colors which was great for sneaking up on folks, but the 82's were the standard white. For this model I created a custom scratchbuild model of the Whelen 8000, or 80H lighbar. Just the process of building the ase and the buck to vacuform the lens was a ordeal. But I have never seen this bar represented in the police modeling world before. It was widely used coast to coast but it was while Fed Signal was still king and Whelen was it's more affordable competition. This bar has the inboard strobes each side of the speaker grille front and back, along with outboard halogen rotaters. The Jabsco spotlight on top is also scrachbuilt as are the bump bars and the seat console fed signal PA70 modular console complete with tiny maplight. It might show in the pics if you look. Thanks for stopping by!!

  8. Lindberg's 1/25 1996-97 Crown Vic, backdated to a '92. Ford CV experts will note that I compromised a bit on the backdating around the taillights/rear bumper, but it looks more like a 92 than it did when I started, and it was a fun project. Maybe on the next one I'll aim for a more authentic conversion on the back end! Thanks for looking, Jonah
  9. Just a box stock curbside build. Flocked & detailed interior. Painted with Model Master metallic black & metallic silver with acrylic clear on top.
  10. Created a Maryland State Police impala. Fictional Model based on one that would have been seized from a drug trafficker. Built mostly stock except a few dress up items on the motor. Scratch built the radar antennas on the front and rear deck. Scratch built the front dash rotater style light with the flash shield behind it. since this is a car that would have been used in the 90s it would not have any of the current LED style emergency lighting. Im still debating on adding a light bar or not.
  11. Hello! Here is my newest model: Aoshima Junction Produce Crown kit + AMT police parts, wheels and tyres and decals. Tamiya paint and some weathering. As always, questions and comments are welcomed. Thanks for watching!
  12. Ive had this idea for a little while after seeing the local PD's 1:1. It has been around the dept. since the mid 90's but has low miles since its only used for special events, so they've kept it around and it's still in service today. Ive taken an AMT f150 promo for the chassis & body along with a monogram f350 duallie for misc. parts. The rest is 100 % scratch built from sheet plastic. Been working on this for a couple of weeks now.
  13. When I made up the BLM decals for the jeep, I had a lot of space left over on the sheet, so whipped up this set for a USFS LEO and a couple of future National Park Service projects. I needed something to put the decals on so I picked up a Jada diecast 2010 Chevy Tahoe (grabbed a Motor Max Dodge Diplomat for future use too). I took it apart and did some minor detailing under the hood, in the cabin and added a rear cage (it was only provided with one between the front and back seats). Now I just need to find a dog for the back. Just insert doggy
  14. This is the Revell Jeep Rubicon kit. I saw one of these built up recently using the included "Park Ranger" decals. Looked like a neat kit so I decided to pick one up for myself. If you are familiar with me then you know I have a thing for green. I decided to do something a little different this time, and thought this was a great subject for a BLM law enforcement rig. The BLM manages tons of land popular with off roaders and a Jeep seems like just the thing to keep them from getting to rowdy. I whipped up a set of decals on the laser printer and got to work. This is a nice kit, and fits well for the most part. It is a bit odd odd though like the kit designer wasn't sure if it was supposed to be a snap kit or a glue kit. It would be a great kit for someone transitioning from snap kits to glue kits. I found it was best to snip the long locating rods down to short nubs so they would fit into the retaining holes better, I was gluing everything anyway so all they had to do was help line things up. Other than the lightbar and decals it is built from the box. I drilled out the winch roller lead, but see in the photos I forgot to add a hook (whoops, guess I'm not quite done after all). The lightbar came from the Lindberg Charger. The spindly supports it sits on would be 1 1/2" pipe in 1-1, so maybe spindly looking in scale but should be plenty strong if it was the real thing. I painted the wheels silver to tone down the chrome. The BLM does like to pimp out their rigs, but chrome just seemed like to much bling, aluminum rims seemed more appropriate. There are lots of little things that one could do to really spiff up this kit, but I think it is pretty nice OOB and I was looking for a nice simple and quick build. Start to finish took me about a week, which is light speed by my standards. Well enough yacking, on to the photos. I think this makes a nice addition to my growing fleet of "tree cops".
